SUMMARY:Blended Learning Lifeguard Class
DESCRIPTION:Dear Lifeguarding Course Participant: \nWe are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules\, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam\, at least a day prior to your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors\, including your PC\, internet speed\, and previous training. I recommend beginning the online session as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all eLearning modules prior to the first in-person skill session. \nWe anticipate conducting the in-class coursework and water skill sessions over two days from 8-6 on Wednesday and Thursday at Hood College Swimming Pool. Please plan on getting in the water each day and students must attend both days! You must complete the online portion prior to class! You should bring lunch with you as we will be working through lunch in order to get you out as quickly as possible. You will need to bring face-covering with you. You will not wear face-covering in the water. \nYou can access the lifeguard training manual using the following link: \nhttps://www.redcross.org/content/dam/redcross/training-services/no-index/LG_PM_digital.pdf \n(if this link does not work go to https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/participant-materials) \nYou will access the e-learning component through the email that will be sent 2 weeks prior to class.  When you receive your email you will access the online training portion by creating a log in by using your email address and password\, click “Launch Course” to begin. \nPlease be prepared to provide proof that you completed the eLearning content using one of the following methods. \n\nPrint or take a screen shot of your online course completion record available at the conclusion of the eLearning course and bring it to the first in-person skill session. It will read “Proceed to Skill Session”.\nBe prepared to login to the eLearning course on the first in-person skill session to display the completion status that appears above the “Launch Course” button.\n\nIf you have questions\, please contact me directly at 240-529-5774. \nSincerely\,\nRob Fox\nAmerican Red Cross Instructor\nAquatic Training & Consulting Service
