SUMMARY:Lifeguard Class - Blended Learning
DESCRIPTION:Dear Lifeguarding Course Participant: \nWe are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules\, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam\, at least a day prior to your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors\, including your PC\, internet speed\, and previous training. I recommend beginning the online session as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all eLearning modules prior to the first in-person skill session. \nWe anticipate conducting the in-class coursework and water skill sessions over approximately two eleven-hour days at Hood College Swimming Pool. Please plan on getting in the water each day and students must attend both days! You must complete the online portion prior to class! You should bring lunch with you as we will be working through lunch in order to get you out as quickly as possible. \nONLINE COURSE WORK \nYou will access the e-learning component through the email that will be sent 2 weeks prior to class.  When you receive your email you will access the online training portion by creating a log in by using your email address and password\, click “Launch Course” to begin. \nPlease be prepared to provide proof that you completed the eLearning content using one of the following methods. \n\nPrint or take a screen shot of your online course completion record available at the conclusion of the eLearning course and bring it to the first in-person skill session. It will read “Proceed to Skill Session”.\nBe prepared to login to the eLearning course on the first in-person skill session to display the completion status that appears above the “Launch Course” button.\n\nIN-PERSON SKILL SESSIONS \nPrerequisite 1 \n\nJump into the water and totally submerge\, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)\nMaintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs\nSwim 50 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both\n\nPrerequisite 2  (timed event under 1 minute 40 seconds) \n\nStarting in the water\, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. SUMMARY:Lifeguard Class - Blended Learning
DESCRIPTION:Dear Lifeguarding Course Participant: \nWe are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules\, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam\, at least a day prior to your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors\, including your PC\, internet speed\, and previous training. I recommend beginning the online session as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all eLearning modules prior to the first in-person skill session. \nWe anticipate conducting the in-class coursework and water skill sessions over approximately two eleven-hour days at Hood College Swimming Pool. Please plan on getting in the water each day and students must attend both days! You must complete the online portion prior to class! You should bring lunch with you as we will be working through lunch in order to get you out as quickly as possible. \nONLINE COURSE WORK \nYou will access the e-learning component through the email that will be sent 2 weeks prior to class.  When you receive your email you will access the online training portion by creating a log in by using your email address and password\, click “Launch Course” to begin. \nPlease be prepared to provide proof that you completed the eLearning content using one of the following methods. \n\nPrint or take a screen shot of your online course completion record available at the conclusion of the eLearning course and bring it to the first in-person skill session. It will read “Proceed to Skill Session”.\nBe prepared to login to the eLearning course on the first in-person skill session to display the completion status that appears above the “Launch Course” button.\n\nIN-PERSON SKILL SESSIONS \nPrerequisite 1 \n\nJump into the water and totally submerge\, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)\nMaintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs\nSwim 50 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both\n\nPrerequisite 2  (timed event under 1 minute 40 seconds) \n\nStarting in the water\, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. SUMMARY:Lifeguard Class - Blended Learning
DESCRIPTION:Dear Lifeguarding Course Participant: \nWe are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules\, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam\, at least a day prior to your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors\, including your PC\, internet speed\, and previous training. I recommend beginning the online session as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all eLearning modules prior to the first in-person skill session. \nWe anticipate conducting the in-class coursework and water skill sessions over approximately two eleven-hour days at Hood College Swimming Pool. Please plan on getting in the water each day and students must attend both days! You must complete the online portion prior to class! You should bring lunch with you as we will be working through lunch in order to get you out as quickly as possible. \nONLINE COURSE WORK \nYou will access the e-learning component through the email that will be sent 2 weeks prior to class.  When you receive your email you will access the online training portion by creating a log in by using your email address and password\, click “Launch Course” to begin. \nPlease be prepared to provide proof that you completed the eLearning content using one of the following methods. \n\nPrint or take a screen shot of your online course completion record available at the conclusion of the eLearning course and bring it to the first in-person skill session. It will read “Proceed to Skill Session”.\nBe prepared to login to the eLearning course on the first in-person skill session to display the completion status that appears above the “Launch Course” button.\n\nIN-PERSON SKILL SESSIONS \nPrerequisite 1 \n\nJump into the water and totally submerge\, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)\nMaintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs\nSwim 50 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke or a combination of both\n\nPrerequisite 2  (timed event under 1 minute 40 seconds) \n\nStarting in the water\, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. DESCRIPTION:Janitor using Water Quality PH/CL2 Chlorine Tester Level Meter in Swimming Pool. \nAquatic Training & Consulting Service is excited to offer a 4-hour pool operator review course based on the National Model Aquatic Health Codes.  This class will be offered as an instructor-led\, virtual course through the GoToWebinar platform.  This class is for currently certified operators that are about to expire or for previously certified operator that have expired inside the last 180 days. \nWe have had success with the online version of the course\, but please be patient. Technology and internet connections can be frustrating to navigate at times. Please make sure that you have a strong internet connection and that nothing is streaming on your connection while you are participating in the training. \nStudents will be sent their webinar link two days prior to the course.  Upon receiving the link\, students should click on the link and fill out the registration page with the address where they would like to receive their certificate.  GoToWebinar will send you a Join Webinar link via email the day of the training. \nHere are the instructions that ATCS suggests students follow to access the training: \n\nPlease ensure you print your handbook before the class starts by accessing a pdf of your manual. Pre-register for the webinar through the web address provided to you via email.\nDuring pre-registration\, you will be asked for your physical mailing address. Kindly provide the address where you would like your certificate to be sent. After preregistering\, you will receive an email with a link to access the training. You may also need to download the GoToWebinar software or app on your device; please do this prior to class.\nIt is important to be punctual for the class and allow a few minutes to log in.
